Great for Kids: Cape Cod Duckmobiles!

As the saying goes, one if by land, two if by sea, quack, quack, quack if its both– the Hyannis Duckmobile company offers unique and adventurous tours for the whole family in amphibious vehicles (duckmobiles of course!).

Grab the kids and ride the streets of downtown Hyannis (starting on Main Street) to see where the Kennedy’s went to church, and where J.F.K gave his acceptance speech. Learn the history of Cape Cod and its famous inhabitants throughout history as you drive past the J.F.K memorial and the J.F.K museum. Learn about the early settlers and were they worked and played. Both by land and by sea, cruise next into the waters of Hyannis to see a Cape Cod light house, some of Cape Cod’s best beaches from beyond the shoreline, and some of New England’s most amazing waterfront properties including the Kennedy Compound.

Cape Cod Duckmobiles are the only land and sea tours to use both the original amphibious DUKW from WWII and the amphibious Larc from the Vietnam War. The vehicles are completely restored and are inspected and certified by the US COAST GUARD.  The trips last about 45 minutes ½ on land ½ on sea. While the stats may be technical, the tours are easy to understand, fun-filled, and perfect for children.

Starting on Main Street Hyannis also offers many great oppertunities for lunch, shopping, and amusement. Plus parks, art, and a close proximity to the ferries for those really looking for a busy day. Main Street Hyannis is a separate street from Main Street Yarmouth (also known as Rte. 28) where most Cape Cod accommodations are located. If you are staying at one of the Yarmouth hotels, the drive is short and easy however, taking about 15 minutes in average traffic from your Cape Cod hotels door to duckmobile parking.
