For those of you heading to Yarmouth soon for a family vacation, be sure to set your plans and dig up some time for the third annual Yarmouth Summer Celebration hosted between June 21th and June 29th. With many of the activities taking place just minutes from Cape Cod hotels along Route 28, events are easy to reach and sure to entertain children and parents alike. One of the crowning jewels of the celebration is the sand sculpting, a newly created but much loved Cape Cod tradition.
Sand art created at ‘The Skipper’ restaurant, one of our favorites and featured on the Mariner Dining Discount.

Start the celebration off by visiting some of over 30 sand sculptures commissioned by East coast artists. Smaller sized sculptures will be located all around Yarmouth and once they have completed individual works the artists will band together to create two massive half ton sand castles at Bass River Beach and Seagull Beach. Everyone is invited to view the creation of these works while enjoying their beach day. In addition public sculpting contests at the beaches on Thursday, June 27, and Saturday, June 29 for anyone to have a fun go at creating pieces with helping hands from the artists (who are also judging).
